My Story

Laughing with Bo.jpg

Along the twists and turns of life, horses have grounded me with their unbridled affection and loyal companionship. I grew up with horses because they were the family business. As a kid, I worked guiding trail rides and caring for horses at the Black Butte Ranch. I also took lessons in English and jumping and competed in Equestrian Vaulting. I had a background in dance and gymnastics, so when I found vaulting in high school, it felt like the best of both worlds. Vaulting was the best thing that ever happened to my riding because it improved my seat and balance in the saddle.

In 2015 I got my degree in Biology from the University of Portland. After graduation, I worked several jobs that I didn't find rewarding and left me drained at the end of the day. During this time, a friend mentioned to me that she thought my personal strengths and love of horses would make me a good Equine Massage Therapist. I cast her comment aside as an unrealistic dream job, but never stopped thinking about it.

Four years later, I couldn't justify waiting any longer, so I found Joseph Freeman and the Equine Natural Movement School. There I developed my touch skills and knowledge of equine anatomy and physiology. I am so grateful I was able to use my background with horses as a starting place to establish a rewarding career. Since then, I have refined my skills by working on horses across many disciplines and ages.
